Prospect Evaluation
This gelding is a tremendous prospect for Dressage & Hunter/Jumper.
His legs are large with substantial bone. He has great impulsion from behind
with a rhythmic, elastic stride.
He's extremely athletic and light on his feet. Koney has the looks and
contemporary style of today's colored sport horse. This talented colt will
do quite well in the show ring!
"Koney" had 60 days basic ground training with Bright Horizon
Show Horses during the Winter of 2006/2007. This growthy colt was taken
slowly so as to lay a firm foundation without pushing. This gelding is
very willing with an inquisitive and pleasant nature. He has lovely, cadenced,
gaits with a beautiful scopey jump. He is soft and responsive on the longeline.
He willingly wears a saddle & bridle during training sessions and
has never offered to buck or fight. He has been bit up with side reins,
which he accepts readily without mouthiness. He's a fast study and is extremely
light
to ground drive. Koney trots ground poles and cavelletis while longing
/ ground
driving and quietly free jumps up to 3'3" in the roundpen.
He was not taken any higher, due to his age, but he definitely has the
aptitude
and agility to show a 3'9"/ 4' course once he matures.
Show Record
Presented by Heather Hines, Koney scored well at the 2007 AWS Inspection.
He finished 3rd over stiff competition and earned a Red Preferred Certification.
